Just in, new pre-cuts

42 pcs of Kona® Cotton, Summer ’13 palette, by Robert Kaufman. Each square measures 5″ x 5″. Charm Pack includes a duplicate of some prints.

40 pcs of 2 1/2″ strips, all Artisan Batiks, Elementals Geos. Includes two pieces of every print. / 2.8 yards

42 pcs of Kona Cotton Solids White Palette for Robert Kaufman. Hexagons are laser-cut at 2” per side, and measure 3 7/16” across the middle from side to opposite side. This discoloration can be minimized with hand-washing, and that area of the fabric would be hidden in the seam allowance when pieced.

Fabric Friday

Happy Friday! I’m keeping this one short. We’re working on updating the site, as well as getting ready for our monthly newsletter on September 1st. So much to do & so little time.  As always, these fabrics are in the process of being put online. I will include a link to where they will be once they finish being processed.

Join us for our Destash Bash!

We are cleaning out the studio and we are throwing a Destash Bash!

What does that mean?

That means a massive de-stashing of our end cuts! What kind of bundles do you like? 1 yard cuts, 1/2 yard cuts or pieces? I already know you want to see them, so here is a peek at what kind of bundles we have put together:

Our Destash Bash will only be going on for a few weeks.  As they sell we will be putting up new bundles, so be sure to check back weekly for fresh bundles! Once they are gone, they are gone!

Each bundle consists of a selection of cotton fabric end cuts in unusual novelty prints. 100% cotton end cuts (each approximately 44/45 inches wide) in beautiful bold patterns. Perfect for quilting and other sewing projects, mixed media or collage.

More to see…

Here is a quick peek at what is going online as I type…

Shelburne Falls from Denyse Schmidt

The graceful swirling skirts and old-fashioned courtliness of New England contra dancing inspired Shelburne Falls, Denyse Schmidt’s latest collection of quilting cottons for FreeSpirit Fabrics. Long enamored with the foot-tapping rhythms and joyful movement of historic American folk dance, Denyse’s has created a timeless collection embodying that exuberance of spirit and small-town charm.

Her inspiration may be small towns, but her impact is big.

I love the combination of florals, plaids, and geometric. They just work so well together.

Here is lovely simple quilt that she shows for inspiration. While it is really simple, it makes me want to pull it off the door and curl up under it. I think that is what a quilt is supposed to say.

Post is here from Aneela Hoey.

It’s springtime in the meadow and the perfect time to pick a posy of pretty flowers, hop through the grass with the bunny rabbits or write fun little stories of all the adventures you’re having. These dainty illustrations are simply darling in springy soft shades of fresh picked lilac, honeysuckle and primrose.

What a great pallete for a little girls room!

Moda has also given us a wonderful collection called Indigo Crossing by Minick & Simpon’s. Check out their blog for some great inspiration.

No other fabric evokes 19th century America more than an indigo cotton. This collection of indigoes is taken from snippets and scraps from sewing baskets and linen cupboards, as well as from our own collections. We love a stack of indigo and white quilts stacked to the ceiling! We love the geometric beauty of blue and white. Freshly laundered and smelling of lavender, an indigo and white quilt is true comfort.

Indigo is so trendy right now. I love it mixed with a pop of color, say red, yellow, or orange. Take a classical look to a new level.

Last one for today is a new Folklorico. Take a look at these new skulls. So fun!

More to come next week!

Not brand new, but oh so cute!

Dino Roar is a really cute collection. I was walking between my two offices yesterday and came across this pillow that one of our buyers in almost done making.

She used the panel, the Dinosaur word print, and some green/olive piping and bam! an adorable pillow that is really simple to make. Here are a few pictures. It is not quit done, but I couldn’t resist. All she needs to do is finish stuffing it & sew up the seam. It should be on the floor any day now.

Also great as a party theme or for crafts.

It’s raining cotton…

I just wanted to share some of the new cotton prints that have come in since Quilt Market.

We’re crazy busy getting them all online, but here is a preview of what is coming!

New from

Here are a few from the new collection Mind Your P’s and Q’s by Keiki. Don’t miss out on Keiki’s adorable new fabric line that is perfect for kids quilts or other fun projects! A whimsical wonderland of quirky critters are at play and doodling away their ABC’s.

We love juvenile prints, but also need something for those of you seeking a more traditional look.

Here is La Belle Fleur.

This beautiful collection of late 18th and early 19th century French floral prints were inspired by two old quilts the Designer found at an Attic Sale. Almost every one of La Belle Fleur’s charming prints has been salvaged from the two quilts!

Here’s one I really liked. Honey Honey by Kate Spain is buzzing with the sweet freshness of a summery seaside cottage garden in full bloom. Ocean breezes whirl throughout the collection. Lively tea roses in vibrant shades of coral, blush and violet are ready to be snipped and stitched into whatever project is in your daydreams! So take a stroll, and see what the tide washes onto the shores of your creativity.

We are bringing a few of these prints in laminated so you have even more options of what to make with this fresh collection!

Now for a few flannels!
